How Slow Food products from the Val Martello convince the whole world

Slow Food recognised the Val Martello in July 2006 as one of the 1,600 "food communities " worldwide. The "Food Community of Martello" is an area that stands out for the quality and sustainability of its products.

In the Val Martello, in addition to strawberry cultivation, a variety of other regional products are produced by small-structured family businesses. The products range from fruits, herbs, meat as well as sausage specialities to dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt.

In addition, the raw product and the refined products are also offered to guests in the gastronomy of the Val Martello. The farm products produced by the farms can be found at the breakfast buffet, lunch or dinner.  

As part of Slow Food, the Val Martello was guest at the "Salone del Gusto" in 2014, a meeting place for Slow Food producers from all over the world. By participating in this event, the regional products, especially the strawberries from the Val Martello, were made known to a large audience. For the next few years, the Cooperative for regional development Martello 3B will continue to support initiatives by the Slow Food organisation, but also by Slow Food South Tyrol, and will again take part in an edition of the "Salone".
